We often come across questions like, 

"Where should I mention my affiliation in the patent/copyright application?"

Let’s clarify this:

In Indian IPR filings; whether it's a patent, trademark, or design, there is no field or requirement titled “𝘼𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣”

What matters is the name and address of the 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿.

If you're filing on behalf of an organization or university, the entity itself should be listed as the 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁 and not just your name with an "𝘼𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣."

Mislabeling roles or mixing up ownership and affiliation can lead to unnecessary complications.
